How does cargo insurance work?

The policy is easy to understand, implement and manage. Once underwritten, you the Freight Forwarder of Custom House Broker will report your customer shipments monthly, and where possible, on-line. We can tailor your policy to cover your customer needs.

What types of losses are covered?

The policy covers many loss situations, ranging from theft, pilferage, water damage, and breakage to non-delivery.

How are losses handled?

We have a centralized loss control center which handles all of the cargo claims. Additionally, you may view your cargo claims process on-line.

How much will it cost?

Premiums usually are based upon an approved commodity list, the destinations and the value of the merchandise being shipped. Rates are per $100 of insured value.
